April Showers Brings May Flowers
That’s an easily remembered poem. But, here in Florida, we have flowers all year!
Many communities have farmer's markets.
From September thru May (it’s too hot in the summer) I enjoy shopping at The Saturday Morning Market in downtown St Petersburg.
Living in Florida for 20 years makes me almost a native. I’m still amazed that our famous Plant City strawberries are already picked and shipped. I hear they had a good crop this year.
This is the largest farmer’s market in the southeast. Not sure if that’s true, but it’s plenty big for me.
Every Saturday brings thousands of people to listen to music by a local group, eat great food, buy organic or not, and of course shop the many craft vendors.
After a few weeks, everyone feels like a member of the family. Having a fresh fruit smoothy along with something from Mr. Empanada – yum.
Further north, your outdoor markets may just be starting. Try it! You will love the feeling of community.
